Frequently Asked Questions
U-Line makes undercounter refrigeration that preserves food, beverages, and wine. Their products fit a modern lifestyle, making them a leading manufacturer of under-counter refrigeration units and ice makers in the United States. However, even U-Line products can develop issues over time. This FAQ covers common problems with U-Line appliances and offers tips on what to do before contacting service.
- Faulty temperature control - Is the most common cause of this problem on analog models. Located at the bottom of the unit, it is easily accessible for a diagnostic check. Replacing it with the new one is a challenging task. It requires the help of professionals.
- Leaky Evaporator - The refrigerant leak at the evaporator assembly. It is a common issue and also requires professional help.
If your U-Line wine cooler is not cooling properly, several issues might be causing the problem. It could be due to a defective thermostat or control board. If the compressor is running but the internal temperature is the same as the room temperature, there is likely a refrigerant leak. Additionally, check if the condenser fan motor is operating. If it isn’t, the compressor may overheat, leading to temperature fluctuations.
U-Line manufactures both stand-alone ice makers and ice makers integrated into freezer units. If your U-Line ice maker is not producing enough ice, the issue may be related to the internal temperature. The ice maker is designed to start producing ice when the internal temperature falls below 10°F. If the temperature is above this mark, ice production will decrease.
This error indicates that the internal temperature was higher than normal for over 12 hours. For instance, if you leave the refrigerator door open overnight, it will trigger this error code. The official explanation points to a shorter thermistor. However, in reality, the thermistor fails to sense the internal temperature accurately. To evaluate a thermistor, we need to measure its resistance at various temperatures. A lack of resistance will confirm that the thermistor is defective.
