Miele dishwasher F78 error indicates a problem with the circulation pump. When the wash cycle begins, the dishwasher fills with water. However, the program is then interrupted, and the drain pump activates to remove the water. The F78 fault appears when the circulation pump stops operating. The only effective solution is to replace the entire circulation pump.

Possible causes:

Clean the brew unit of the coffee machine once a week by hand:

• Step 1 - Disconnect the coffee machine from the power supply.
• Step 2 - Open the appliance door on the right-hand side of the coffee machine.
• Step 3 - Clean the brew unit by hand under warm running water without using any cleaning agent.
• Step 4 - Wipe any coffee grounds off the filters.
• Step 5 - Dry the funnel to prevent ground coffee from sticking to it the next time a coffee is made.
• Step 6 - Clean the interior of the coffee machine.
• Step 7 - Use your vacuum cleaner to remove any dry ground coffee in the coffee machine.
• Step 8 - Slide the brew unit back into the coffee machine, ensuring it remains straight.
• Step 9 - Press and hold the button at the bottom of the handle of the brew unit.
• Step 10 - While doing so, turn the handle to the right.
• Step 11 - Close the appliance door.

When the program is interrupted and the "Intake/Drain" light starts flashing, that means that there is a problem with your Miele Dishwasher. Two ways to do it:

• Easy Way: Press and hold the Thermometer and the Filter touchpad or the freezer's Up and On/Off touchpad for approximately five seconds.
• Using Customer Service Mode:
  • Step 1 - Switch the freezer ON.
  • Step 2 - Locate and hold the Down arrow.
  • Step 3 - Turn off the display by pressing the Thermometer touchpad.
  • Step 4 - While holding the Down arrow, press the Thermometer touchpad. When it becomes yellow, release it.
  • Step 5 - Keep holding the Down arrow until letter C shows up on the display. Scroll down to h and press the Thermometer icon. Scroll down to h2 and hold it until h- shows up.
  • Step 6 - Press Thermometer. When letter h shows up, scroll back to C and then press Thermometer again.
